Let’s go the extra mile for Chaveirim

Chaveirim is an organization that needs no explanation for its importance.

Chaveirim of BP and Flatbush are responding to hundreds of calls every day with a wide range of requests for help -

from simple matters, such as a tire change or boost, lost items, elevator jams, etc., to life-saving

issues, such as a child locked in a car or an elderly person who ran out of medication.

In moments of despair and panic, a call to Chaveirim is guaranteed to be answered with

immediate help on the way. Over 225 members are ready to run around the clock to save the

day and provide relief for people in inconvenient or difficult situations. They do so with

professionalism, courtesy, and thoughtfulness and always go the extra mile to help.

But while the volunteers give their time and energy, all of this comes with a staggering budget

for the organization. From thousands of dollars in equipment and tools for each member,

upkeeping the vehicle fleet, shabbos goy service, gas, insurance, communication, and much

more, to a budget of nearly 350K annually.
